The Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology opened its doors on May 18, 2018 and from June 1, 2018 all children with cancer in the Netherlands will be treated in the new center. The Princess Máxima Center works closely with the sub-specialists of the WKZ and shares the operating complex and intensive care.

We offer internships within the basic Medicine program. There are places for elective cohorts of at least 8 weeks and semi-doctoral internships between 3 and 6 months at the Princess Máxima Centre.

There is also the possibility to do an optional internship at the department of surgery of the Princess Máxima Centre. During this fellowship, you will become acquainted with the surgical aspects of paediatric oncological care (for neuro-oncological, solid and haemato-oncological patients alike) and also spend a lot of time in the operating theatres attending and assisting with operations.
During your internship, you will take note of working in a clinical and multidisciplinary team, developmental care and complex patient care. A training plan can be tailored with your Máxima trainer. Important conditions to qualify for a internship are:
