Ultrasonography training for colleagues in Africa

For the Princess Máxima Center Outreach program – sharing knowledge with poor countries – pediatric oncologist Trijn Israels recently organized ultrasound training with and for colleagues from various African countries.

A number of radiologists and ultrasound researchers from Malawi, Cameroon, Zimbabwe and Ghana participated in the training at our partner hospital in Blantyre, Malawi. The aim was to detect Wilms tumors (kidney cancer) earlier so that children can be treated earlier and have a better chance of recovery. Read and watch the blog and video that Trijn made here.
